CARY, N.C.--As Paris continues to recover from the terror attacks that killed more than 100 people and injured many others, many continue to pray for the victims.

More than 70 people of different faith groups gathered and prayed together Sunday night for the victims of the Paris attacks at the Institute of Islamic and Turkish Studies (IITS) in Cary.

The goal of the gathering was to spread peace, love and hope to others during the time of tragedy.

Volunteers believe a better world is possible in the future, but it will take working together and embracing differences.

"The goal for the terrorists are to break the friendships between different faith groups. And that's exactly what we are trying to avoid here, by bringing different faith groups together ant then pray for the same goal, which is the peace for the whole humanity and peace over the whole world,” said Ekrem Hatip, an IITS Volunteer.

In addition to hosting prayer gatherings, volunteers are also collecting coats and blankets to donate to refugees in southeast Turkey.
