Celebration :: Feast of Sacrifice

Raleigh : 09-24-2015

Turkish-American community of IITS celebrated Eid Al-Adha (feast of sacrifice). The Eid Al-Adha is an important four-day religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide to honor Abraham's obedience to God. Muslims commemorate Abraham's ultimate act of sacrifice every year during Eid Al-Adha by themselves sacrificing an animal such as a sheep, cow, or goat. The Eid Al-Adha is a time of reflection, sacrifice, charity, and family. The meat from the sacrifice of Eid al-Adha is mostly shared with friends, family, and the community at large.
