On Sunday 11/3/2013, Institute of Islamic and Turkish Studies (IITS) presented "Three Faiths One God: Judaism, Christianity, Islam" by Director and Producer, Gerald Krell.
The documentary, "Three Faiths, One God: Judaism, Christianity, Islam" compares similarities and differences in religious beliefs and practices that Islam has with Christianity and Judaism. It also examines how people of goodwill in the Abrahamic faith communities are coming to terms with historical conflicts that impact their lives today, the crisis of the fundamentalist approach to religious pluralism, and tearing down barriers to understanding & respect. During the event we served refreshments, Turkish tea as well as Noah's pudding. It is believed that the Prophet Noah's Ark rested on a mountain in northeastern Turkey. Since their supply was exhausted, they hunted through the ark and put together every little bit of food they could find and made a splendid feast of pudding. Since that time, this has become a tradition and we cook Noah's pudding every year on the same month. The meaning for us is not only to cook Noah's pudding but also share with others. So it is that time of the year and in remembrance of Prophet Noah's and the believers' deliverance from the flood and symbolic representation of unity, we served Noah's Pudding!
The film was followed by discussion, sharing of thoughts and appreciating one another.
IITS was honored and pleased by having members of many churches and synagogues in the area.
Peace, Shalom and Salaam.
